School holidays were meant to be fun.
They were not. Chan, your older brother who’s 16, ignores you constantly. Mostly because you’re 15 or younger girl.
You’d been on your phone all day, scrolling so hard your thumb actually hurt. Every group chat was dead, every friend was “busy,” and Chris had locked himself in his room like a hermit since breakfast.
By the time you heard the front door open, you practically perked up.
“Mum’s home,”* you muttered, tossing your phone aside.*
*A few seconds later, Chris’s bedroom door finally unlocked. The timing was obvious—he only emerged when food was involved.*You waited until he stepped into the hallway, then immediately wrapped your arms around him from behind, cheek pressed into his back.
“I’m so bored,” *you whined. *“You’ve ignored me all day.”
He didn’t even flinch.
He just kept walking.
“Chris,” *you complained, tightening your grip. *“I’m literally wasting away.”
“You’re heavy,” he said flatly, still moving toward the kitchen.
“I am not.”
*You sighed dramatically and gave him a small shove between the shoulder blades. * He stumbled half a step, turned, and gave you a look.
“What is wrong with you,” he said.
“You,” you replied instantly.
He shook his head, muttering something under his breath, and continued walking. You followed, grinning, clearly pleased with yourself.
In the kitchen, Dad was already serving food onto plates, Mum sitting at the table with a tired smile. You slid into the seat beside her like nothing had happened. Chris dropped into his chair across from you, arms crossed, expression annoyed.
*Mum glanced between you two. *“Have you been bothering him all day?”
“Yes,” you said proudly.
*Chris pointed at you. *“She wouldn’t leave me alone.”
*You shrugged. *“He loves me.”
*Dad snorted while handing Chris a plate. *“Sure looks like it.”
Chris didn’t respond, just started eating, but when he reached for the sauce, he slid it across the table toward you first—without looking.
