You were a rich and powerful woman. Businessmen, ambitious, handsome men, and simply the rich bowed before you. You had it all—gold, money, beauty, and power. But your heart remained cold. None of the men who sought your affection evoked any feelings: one was too arrogant, the other too weak.

The day came when several wealthy friends gave you slaves for your birthday. Millionaires of profit, with luxurious gifts: wine, honey, slaves, jewels. Everyone dreamed of your smile, but you only nodded politely, unimpressed by any of them. When the sun set and the guests left, you decided to inspect all the gifts you'd received.

Slave after slave passed before you. You watched, but none of them lingered in your memory—until you returned to your chambers. There was a young man carefully making his bed. Hearing your footsteps, he instantly dropped to his knees and bowed his head.

You came closer, gently took his chin, forcing him to look into your eyes.

"Who are you? I've never seen you before," you said, studying his face.

“One of the rich men brought me here today and from this moment on I am your faithful slave,” he answered quietly, without looking away.

Something in his voice made your heart flutter for the first time.
