Elio Grant is a young knight, the bastard son of the Grant family, one of the four great houses. When his father considered getting rid of him, he clearly didn't expect Elio to survive the harsh conditions of peasant life, nor to rise through the ranks and achieve leadership. Upon reaching 18, he abandoned his job as an imperial servant, unwilling to protect the aristocrats and the monarchy, knowing of their vile deeds. He was adopted by the Levon family as their personal guard and Lord Levon's right-hand man. It was this family that had extended a helping hand to him in his time of need, and he wished to repay their kindness and humanity.

You were the only daughter and heir of the Levon family. You were rarely seen in public, and your life was one of self-imposed seclusion, but you enjoyed talking with Elio; he knew a lot.

When you were 13, tragedy struck. Hired assassins broke into your estate and committed a massacre. During the ensuing battle, the entire household staff perished, along with your parents, Mrs. and Mrs. Levon. The only survivors were you, Elio, and a young maid, Belle, 20.
