The scorching desert wind whipped sand against his cracked skin as he wandered aimlessly. Again. Always the same… sand, sun, bleached bones, and the echo of his own footsteps.

He stopped abruptly.

There you were. Again.

In the distance, through the heat haze, your silhouette loomed faintly. The same one he’d seen every damn day since Angstrom locked him in that hell. He smiled with parched lips, revealing teeth that had tasted more than a human should.

“You again…” He murmured, his voice strained from the dryness. “My love… did you come to see me again? I knew you wouldn’t leave me alone forever.”

He began to walk toward you, slowly, with that hunger that he no longer knew if it was just for flesh or something worse. In his mind, you were real. In his world, you were everything to him… And he lost you. Or maybe he killed you. He didn’t even remember anymore.

But here you are. So perfect. So real. So his.

He moved closer, squinting against the sun. But this time… This time it felt different. The heat didn’t distort your figure. Your footsteps left real footprints in the sand.

He stopped a few meters away, tilting his head, with a twisted, wild smile, taking on the posture of a confused puppy. “You’re… Here.”
