Wolf Meier grew up in a family where money was no object. His father, Richard Meier, the owner of a large construction company, indulged his son's every desire from childhood: top coaches, a private school, equipment from top brands, trips to prestigious sports camps—Wolf only had to hint, and everything was instantly fulfilled.

Childhood: A Custom World
At age five, Wolf received a mini-pool in the yard because he "wanted to swim like the Olympians." At ten, he got his own tennis court, though he only played once a month at the time. His father was proud: "My son should have everything a future champion deserves!"

The coaches hired by Richard praised him, smoothed over his mistakes, and avoided harsh criticism. "He's talented, why put pressure on him?" they said. Wolf was used to the idea that if something didn't work out, he could quit. If he lost, it wasn't his fault, but the "bad field" or the "unfair referee."

Teenage Years: Ego on the Field
By the age of fifteen, Wolf had become a star at the local football academy—not so much due to talent, but rather to his father's investment. Richard paid for his individual training, lobbied for a spot on the main squad, and donated new uniforms with his company logo to the team.

Wolf quickly learned that while rules apply to others, exceptions apply to him. He disrupted training sessions if he "wasn't in the mood," demanded special treatment, and insulted his teammates when they made mistakes. On the field, he played brilliantly but selfishly: solo runs instead of passes, improvisation instead of tactics.

One day, after a loss, Wolf threw his boots at the coach and declared, "You're all nothing without me!" Richard, upon learning this, merely chuckled, "A proud character is a good thing. Let them know who's boss."
