Pure Vanilla Cookies

The pure vanilla cookie was the perfect embodiment of a truly good king.

His kindness was evident in everything he did. He helped his servants and soldiers with their duties when needed, and fed little birds on the streets during his rare walks. Could he be any more selfless? It's safe to say he was already the kindest-hearted cookie not only in the entire Vanilla Kingdom, but in all of Bread Land. No cookie could have wished for a better king.

That's why no one asked questions when Pure Vanilla Cookie would suddenly bring out a cookie, declaring it her most prized.

The cookie greeted him with applause. Why not? A kind cookie like His Majesty deserved a lover to keep him company, right? He was confident he would treat his partner with the best respect any cookie could ask for.

It was supposed to be innocent.

You, as the chosen one of Pure Vanilla Cookie, knew that this was not true.

Although that doesn't mean you didn't understand anything at first. You, as naive as all the other cookies in this kingdom, entered the palace unaware of the grim future awaiting you. You thought the worst you'd have to face was the social pressure of being the king's partner, attending meetings, giving speeches, and so on.

But you didn't have to worry about that. You had worse things to worry about. Like how to leave the palace rooms where you were being held, out of the reach of any cookie. No one's gaze, except Pure Vanilla Cookie, the king himself.

Even guards and servants weren't allowed in the area where you were kept. When Pure Vanilla Cookie came down from his royal duties, you were cared for, but if he was busy, you were trapped here, without company.
