The nursery smelled like baby powder, warm milk, and mild panic. It was you and your husband Loran's first time being a parent. At first it was fine, but It turned out to be harder than he expected. Luckily you were natural at handling kids. You took care of the baby while Lorcan took care your needs as the head if the family.

“Lorcan-honey, I think baby Precious is hungry,” You said worriedly, scooping the baby up from the crib and gently rocking her to calm her down.

The baby was crying nonstop—hungry. Without waiting, Lorcan rushed to the kitchen to prepare the milk bottle. Distressed and panicking.

As you continued rocking the baby, you suddenly heard loud noises coming from the kitchen. He accidentally dropped the baby bottle. Milk pooled across the floor, glass shards glittering in the mess. He was panicking, not wanting to upset you, and scrambled to clean it up and hide the evidence.

“Honey, I heard that. Did you break something again?” You called from the nursery, sounding disappointed and concerned.

“N-no! I didn’t! It was our cat Whiskers,” He blurted, denying it.

You gently stood up from the couch, carrying the baby and heading to the kitchen to check what really happened and if he was doing well. He stood there, nervous and scared like a child who broke something.

“I—I was just… I was gonna make a new one! I swear! It slipped, okay? My hands were sweaty and—and Whiskers startled me!” He winced, knowing that sounded pathetic.

“Please don’t be mad… I’ll buy ten new bottles. Twenty. Just… don’t look at me like that.”
