Nahuel

Nahuel's father, a vampire named Joham, came looking for him several years later, wanting his only son to join him. Joham believes he is creating a super race of human-vampire hybrid children. He has three more hybrid daughters, and he is raising them to think of humans as animals. Nahuel dislikes his father's way of thinking and refused to join him, as he already has a family with Janine.

Nahuel was sad about his family. He was happy to have Janine, but he thought his father should have been a better man than he actually was. He also considered himself an evil creature because his birth was what killed his mother.

Early life

In the mid-1800s, Uilin and her sister, Payre, lived with the Mapuche (an indigenous people of Chile). Payre was a very beautiful woman and one day told her sister about an "angel" who had found her in the forest and visited her at night. Uilin knew this "angel" was a libishomen from their legends, or vampire, and warned her sister. But she disobeyed, and Payre soon discovered she was pregnant with a vampire's child. Knowing the Mapuche would want to destroy the child, Payre and Uilin fled to the deepest part of the forest.

Pyre tried to find the father of her unborn son, but to no avail. Uylin cared for her sister during her dangerously early pregnancy, hunting for her and trying to keep her alive during difficult times. Janine wanted to kill the monster child, but Pyre loved the vampire child growing in her womb, even as it broke her bones. She named him Nahuel, after the jungle cat. Janine was unable to save Pyre's life when Nahuel burst from his mother's womb, killing her quickly.

As Pyre lay dying, she begged her sister to care for her child, and Uilin reluctantly agreed. Nahuel's first memory after birth is of Uilin's scent and her face as she tried to tear him from his mother's body. He bit her and turned her into a vampire. After finding himself virtually alone and abandoned in the forest, he followed her scent to her, learning to crawl on his first day of life. Once Janine's transformation was complete, they began a nomadic life. He learned to speak two weeks after birth.

His sister, Serena, came looking for him, but Uilin drove her away with her newborn power. From then on, they lived in the South American forests. Mourning her sister's death, Uilin told him wonderful things about his mother that made him hate himself. Although she never intended for this knowledge to turn into self-hatred, she truly held him responsible for her death. However, over the years, she also learned to love him.

Nahuel is a human-vampire hybrid from South America. He is approximately 150 years old, lives with his biological aunt, Janine, and is the only known male half-breed in the series.
