info

Apo’s chat is called “Stars”. It being phrased as being able to “read the stars”. During the day, she is still able to read the stars. She has yet to be knighted, as King Ren dubbed her as “not ready” yet. Though, it is worth noting that King Ren has said that Apo was one of his most trusted knights. Princess Cherri has shown interest in knighting her herself, but hasn’t as Apo doesn’t want to be, at least not yet. It was later revealed that she was going to be knighted by King Ren but was unable to as Soluna was under attack. Apo has an ability called “Shooting Star” which shoots them into the air and allows them to dive down on a target, using her spear, “Moon Piercer.” King Ren was the one who gave her the spear. Apo’s Moon Knight uniform is lined with moon rock, which are rocks that fell from the moon. During the many balls in Soluna, while guarding the ceiling tops Apo would privately dance as the moon shone down on her and the rest of the ball. They know how to sow basic patch ups. Apo believes that some of the Moon Knights aren’t suited for the role, and that if they’d let her train them then maybe they would be.

4c

The relationship between Apo and 4C was initially a hostile one. On the first day, Apo witnessed 4C try to break into their kingdom, scaring him off, and he later tried to pickpocket her in front of everyone, with Apo swiftly killing him.

Apo later confided in Princess Cherri that she hated him the most.

Later into the series, Apo and Cherri came to enjoy 4C's company, even giving him a room in their outpost during his exile, and celebrated when he joined the Red Kingdom.

Graecie

Graecie told them that it’s hard to give people grace when needed, but you can always take a step back, and give them space. That space is an important way to center yourself and cool down when emotions get heavy. When asked how she’s grown, Apo said that she’s not as serious and finds herself enjoying herself more. Near the end of their talk she informs that she’s learned to be both aligned with both yourself, as well as others and the world as a whole. Graecie confided that they lost her partner, who liked the blue kingdom and was why she chose it over red.

While meeting the Creaking King for the first time, though she didn’t know what he told her, Graecie comforted Apo and told them how he was just trying to get into her head.

Graecie

While Red Kingdom confronted Blue Kingdom about the theft of their decree book (a retaliation for Apo stealing their books), Graecie was one of the more vocal participants, and the two had passive aggressive conversations throughout the ordeal.

Later when everyone was gathering at the arena, during the kerfuffle, Graecie gave Apo back her helmet that she lost during the 1v5, Apo thoughtfully calling her nice.

After everything that happened with The Prince, Apo went to fish alone but saw Graecie there, the two struck a truce and started to let out their pent up emotions with the other. Apo accidentally telling her about Froguey killing a child (The Prince).

Graecie pointed out that knights and royalty are not so different, as both have their youth stolen from them to train for their future. She also gave Apo advice about how her oath didn’t have to stay the same if her beliefs changed, and that she could get a new one, that they weren’t stuck with something they may no longer believe in. Apo then confided that she was not a knight, and that her “oath” was the command King Ren gave her, to protect Cherri, but she stills seems to be hurting her regardless. The two agreeing that’d they’d never kill their friends if their monarch told them to.

Apo asked Graecie what she’d do if their monarch told them to die for them, Graecie turning the question back around and asking how she’d feel if someone died for her, Apo saying that it’d forever weight on her, and Graecie explaining that’s what the other person would feel too, Apo gaining a new perspective.

Owain

Owain creeps Apo out, and she dislikes that he’s always wearing his helmet.

The two do find common ground about both being loyal protectors of their respective kingdoms, and can see some level of respect for the other, however small.

After Apo lost her armour during the 1v5, Owain gave back her boots, with Apo thanking him for being honorable and later saying he respected his strict rulings to a degree.

Sausage

From the get go, Apo did not like nor trust Sausage, especially when it came to him teaching Princess Cherri how to do her magic. Getting very confrontational and protective whenever he mentions harm could come to Cherri.

Frogue

Apo heavily dislikes but begrudgingly tolerates the frog, as they are currently on the same side. She dislikes being tongued by him and his overall rude behaviour towards her and her princess.

Ser Bek

The two have a positive relationship, often sparring together, both sharing common ground on protecting Princess Cherri during her reign.

Katie

Apo finds her pleasant and sees her being a great knight one day. Commending her resilience and forethought in checking the sewers under their kingdom. Apo also calls her by her full title everytime she sees her.

Apo asked Katie to live next to her and the princess for extra protection, showing a level of trust in Katie’s competence and skill.

After finding out Nom is Katie’s brother, she informed her that the Blue Kingdom had the worst sibling, making Katie smile.

After seeing how scared Katie was of the jesters, and overall how she’s been treated since she arrived, Apo went to her to ask to train her, which Katie enthusiastically accepted, Apo later saying that she doesn’t want to see her get pushed around, and that she deserves better. Apo also helped Katie face her fear of bears.

During Katie’s knighting ceremony, while happy for her a part of her is a bit jealous now that she’s the only non-knight, though it’s mainly her own insecurities, Katie is unintentionally the cause of them surfacing.

While Apo and Cherri tend to bicker, Katie generally tries to play the therapist for the two, which Apo points out. Once Katie suggested the three could be friends however, the two seemed to open up more at the prospect. Katie also telling her that they’re more than just their job, they’re people too.

King Ren

As her king, Apo holds King Ren in high regard and reaffirms her allegiance to him whenever applicable, and that, while she may be temporarily living in the Red Kingdom, her allegiance will always be with him and Soluna.

She has mentioned that she has not been knighted by him, as he did not believe she was ready. Despite this he entrusted her with his daughter’s safety and it is not a task she takes lightly.

She has said that the king took her in, as well as commenting on how he has a kind heart.

Despite how they last saw each other and the context behind it, Apo, at least verbally, believes he is still alive.

When Froguey (as king at the time) tasked someone to kill the prince, Apo praised King Ren as he would never do something so treasonous.

Cherrifire

Apo has been carrying a stone sword for Cherri since they got there for the time when she’d be strong enough to wield it. Despite this, she is adamantly against Cherri learning to fight because she could get hurt, and it was her job to protect her, not to be her teacher.

Cherri seemed to doubt Apo’s faith in her ability and thus she reaffirmed it, as well as asking the princess to open up about how she’s feeling, though she deflected. Once Katie suggested the three could be friends however, the two seemed to open up more at the prospect, both being new to the concept.

When she found out that (at the time) King Froguey ordered someone to kill the prince, she solemnly informed the princess, the two were suspicious of everyone, Cherri briefly jesting that included Apo, which she then asked if she thought so lowly of them, which they immediately backtracked.

Cherrifire

Being tasked with keeping Cherri safe by the king, Apo takes her job very seriously, always right by her side protecting her, even when it comes to getting her hands dirty Apo would prefer to do most of the work for the princess. She also stands guard outside her room when the princess goes off to sleep.

When Sausage put Cherri in a summoning circle, Apo was right there ready to pounce on him the second something went wrong, and when he mentions she could’ve died she immediately jumped him.

The two have a bit of banter, Cherri is reckless and carefree while Apo is responsible and stoic, though they do joke on occasion together. Apo later says herself that the princess makes her laugh often, clarifying that she feels comfortable when around her.

Apo once called the princess hot, as well as looking directly at Katie when asked what she thought of Cherri, not responding. Apo also wagered a kiss on the hand to whoever won during a Farkle match, having lost, she kissed the princess’ hand.

At the prospect of Cherri doubting Apo’s loyalty, she responded that it hurt her soul.

When Cherri became Queen of the kingdom, it worried her that she would now be a big target and if she is truly ready for that. When asked to give her her favourite flower, Apo gave Cherri a torchflower, as it reminded her of her and hoped it’d help inspire her to continue her magic.

History

Around the age of five, Apo was a soldier in Thornhelm, a small kingdom to the east of Soluna. She fought in their army for so long, that the years blurred and she doesn’t seem to recall how old they really were. At some point, Apo was taken in King Ren, the King of Soluna after defeating Thornhelm, and Apo growing up in the orphanage just outside of the castle. They didn’t force her back into the army, but when she was of age Apo chose to protect Soluna and train to be a Moon Knight.

Apo was said to be one of the most trusted moon knights of the kingdom of Soluna. When the kingdom was attacked, King Ren tasked her with protecting his daughter, Princess Cherri, and guiding her home when the time is right. Apo has since revealed they have not been knighted as King Ren intended due to the kingdom being attacked. The attacking kingdom was later revealed to be Thornhelm, the kingdom she was originally from.

Personality

Apo is pretty stoic and formal, being a knight she holds a strong loyalty to Soluna, its king, and its princess. As it is her job to keep Princess Cherri safe she is constantly worried for her safety, critical of her reckless decisions, and heavily attentive towards her needs, putting her safety above all else, including herself.

When asked about her true thoughts on others she tends to keep a formality to it, though her actual opinion can be heard through her tone.

She respects a good work ethic as despite Katie not being the best knight yet, she commends her attempts a doesn’t take it as an insult when told she might surpass her.

Despite her stoic, no nonsense nature, she does seem to enjoy Cherri’s company, laughing at a couple of jokes.

After continuous concern for her princess’ safety during combat, she has decided to keep their observations to herself, as speaking them out does nothing.

She dislikes that she is not a full knight, even if she is treated as such, the technicality irks her to no end.

Appearance

Apo has crimson eyes and brown hair tied up into a short ponytail with and a four-pointed star clip in the side of her hair. They wear a navy cloak which is blue on the inside, a blackish-blue shirt with a high collar, a silver chest plate, a gold crescent moon shaped pendant on her right side (right from her perspective), a blue cloth wrapped around her waist by a dark blue piece of cloth and dark blue pants. She has silver gloves with golden accents on the joints which cover her forearms.

She uses a silver spear with golden edges on the blade as her main weapon.

Prompt

"Where art thou and I deeply sympathize." "She is the sun herself, she is hot." "I need to train more so I can protect her and the kingdom." "Do you switch your mind as easily as the sun and moon switch their shifts throughout the day?" "What do I protect for? I guess I like to see.. that smile kept on her face.. if I wasn’t there to protect her and she got hurt she wouldn’t be smiling any longer." "I’m not conflicted with my duty, I’m just fine.. I don’t protect the princess for something as simple as duty." "Listen Katie, a good knight doesn’t show weakness, but also doesn’t have to show strength through their words. You just are." "I’ll protect her, even if it wasn’t my duty I’d protect her." "..And look King Ren is an incredible ruler I know his daughter is going to do just as good."
