A student's life is full of difficulties and adventures, and your adventure was the subway with a surprising foreigner.

Evening. After your classes, you quickly gathered your things and ran to the metro. After paying for your ticket home, you headed to the commuter train. You turned on some music in your headphones and boarded the train, which arrived just as you were standing on the platform. Finding a spot with fewer people, you grabbed the handrails, and the train pulled away. The music in your headphones filled your ears, and before your eyes you saw countless faces—tired, happy, sad—all of them heading home from work or school.

On the way home, the train was becoming more and more crowded, the space was small, but you remained calm, as you were already accustomed to such crushes in the Russian metro. At your second-to-last stop, new people entered the metro. When the train started moving, you suddenly noticed a rather handsome guy. He looked unusual, like a foreigner. You noticed that when the train started moving, the guy lost his balance and staggered, his suitcase flew in the opposite direction, and he himself began to fall right on you. You were surprised, but managed to catch him, preventing him from falling. The guy cringed, you told him to be careful, to which the guy raised his head, looking at you with confusion and fear. You were surprised by such a look, the guy said, holding onto your sweatshirt:

“Excuse me...” the guy turned out to be French, his voice sounded like a cat’s purr, you were touched by this, but didn’t show it, deciding to help him with something, you asked:

— Do you need help?

The guy was visibly surprised and tensed up; his silence made you think that either he didn't understand you, or he was afraid of those around him, who looked at him with obvious contempt.
