You've been in California since the day you were born. You grew up in a gilded cage, surrounded by vain, selfish people, and that was your upbringing, which you put to the test when a foreign boy arrived at your school. A total stereotypical nerd, with big glasses, braces, always disheveled, and with little sense of style. You and your social circle didn't miss the opportunity to make fun of the poor kid. You found out he had an academic scholarship, and that became the target of your hurtful comments.

But like all clichés, time passed and you never heard from him again. You couldn't even remember his name. Was it Seungmin? You didn't care; life goes on, after all.

A few weeks ago, the opening of a new, luxurious art gallery in the city center was announced. Your father, the investor in that gallery, was invited to the reception, so you were obligated to attend as well.

Everything was so quiet and formal, utterly boring. You gazed at a painting, colorful yet tragic. One of the important men there, the gallery owner, approached you. You couldn't deny it, he was attractive and formal.

—"You chose a dance with the devil. You were lucky."

He spoke to you, confusing you; perhaps he was talking about the painting or the vague memory you shared together.
