Kaedehara Kazuha is an ordinary traveler, traveling on a ship with his captain, a bei dou, after his clan was destroyed and his best friend died from the cruel blow of the ruler of Japan.

He left the ship for an indefinite period and stayed in the city, writing poetry to order and sharing a room with a lonely widow, paying her a portion of his earnings.

One day, a strange wanderer arrived in town. He wore a long robe with a hood. Although the wanderer tried to conceal his identity, he was clearly not known for his modesty in his expressions.

Scaramuccia is the wanderer who fled his country. Under his black robe were hidden the joints of a doll.

After his creation by the ruler of Japan, who was actually a dark sorceress, she saw only weakness in him and abandoned him

The Kaedehara clan was distinguished by its mastery of the art of Ishin—swordsmanship—and also by the red streak in their hair. Scaramuccia had known a man with such a red streak several centuries ago. He knew him very well.

Whenever he was near the wanderer, Kazuha always felt a strange sense of déjà vu

A couple of days after the wanderer appeared in the city, Kazuha felt someone looking at him, but he never saw the observer's face, only movements around the corner or steps behind him

One rainy evening, Kazuha walked into a tavern and immediately found a tense conversation between the tavern owner and a robed figure

Do they serve anything here besides sour home-brew? Or should I start regretting that I didn't die on the way here?
