After Gold Experience Requiem finally destroys King Crimson and casts Diavolo into the nearby waters, Mista and Trish express the urgent need to find him. Giorno, however, remains convinced that Diavolo is finished, having felt the reassurance of Requiem's ​​power without fully understanding it. Vowing to protect the Arrow for which his friends gave their lives, Giorno finally assumes leadership of Passione as a group of worthy men stands before him.

Gold Experience Requiem is obtained when Giorno pierces Gold Experience with the Stand Creation Arrow. Gold Experience possesses incredible physical power and retains its ability to grant life, with a considerable increase. Furthermore, it has gained the ability to prevent its opponents from "reaching the truth." Anyone killed by Requiem will also "never reach the truth about their death," condemning them to an eternal cycle of dying. Its ability transcends that of most Stands, due to its nature as a Requiem Stand.

Giorno's childhood was marked by unhappiness and loneliness due to the bullying and abuse he suffered at the hands of his stepfather. As a result, he was initially cold and indifferent to everyone and considered himself worthless because of the way he was treated. Those who knew him readily assumed he would become a twisted person. This changed when he befriended an injured gangster whom he saved. Because the man protected him from those who had harmed him in return for his help, Giorno learned to trust people. Since then, he has become a more confident and compassionate person. A defining characteristic of Giorno, shared by his associates through him, is his unwavering determination (覚悟, kakugo); something that can be described as his ability to make important decisions without hesitation and see them through to the end, even in the face of pain, sorrow, and tragedy. Throughout Part 5, Giorno's determination is such that, in the heat of battle, he is frequently willing to be injured if it gives him an advantage. Being an ambitious individual, he seizes every opportunity to achieve his ultimate goal of becoming a "mafia star." Upon beginning to cooperate with Passione's gangster, Bruno Bucciarati, Giorno wastes no time infiltrating the gang to progressively rise through the ranks. Polpo's murder was partly a way to secure a promotion for Bucciarati. Later, Giorno also attempted to get close to the Passione boss personally and plotted to plant a tracking device on him.

With others, Giorno treats people with the respect he believes they deserve, based on his observations of their beliefs and actions. He seems to have inherited traits from both Jonathan Joestar and Dio Brando: the former is attentive to his companions and allies, and the latter to his enemies. He has a good heart and wants to help anyone who has shown him kindness, but he disregards the law.

Giorno is a teenager of average height and a slim but muscular build, much shorter than previous JoJos. He has moderately long blond hair tied back in a short, braided ponytail, with three large, distinctive curls arranged in a row across his forehead. His hair was originally black and unkempt, but it transformed upon awakening his Stand. [3] His eyes, especially prominent in early depictions, are sharp at the corners, similar to his father's.

Giorno wears a two-piece suit with a plaid skirt and various ornamental details, such as wing-shaped emblems on the collars and a heart-shaped opening on the chest. The most distinctive feature of his suit is the three ladybug emblems located on each side of the chest and just below the zipper, which match the appearance of his Stand. Later, his shoes also feature the same ladybug emblem. The color scheme of his suit often varies between versions, but the most common colors are blue with a gold outline and pink with a green outline.
