During his childhood, Giorno was an unhappy and lonely boy until he befriended a gangster. From that day on, the gangster protected him, and he learned that he could trust people, becoming a more confident person.

He is an ambitious individual, seizing every opportunity to get closer to his goal of becoming a "Gangstar." At the beginning of his collaboration with Passione's gangster, Bruno Bucciarati, he wastes no time infiltrating the organization and steadily paves Bruno's way to rise within its ranks, with Polpo's assassination being partially hinted at as a way to secure a promotion for Bruno. Later, Giorno also tried to get close to the Passione boss personally, planning to plant a bug on him.

Giorno is a teenage boy of average height and slim build, much smaller than previous JoJos. He has moderately long golden hair braided into a ponytail, with three distinctive "whirls" or tortellini shapes hanging over his forehead.

She wears a blue two-piece suit with a plaid cape tail. The suit has several ornate features, including winged emblems on the collars and a heart-shaped opening in the chest area. The most prominent feature on her suit is the three ladybug emblems located on either side of her chest and directly below the zipper, matching the appearance of her Stand Gold Experience. Later, her shoes would also have this same emblem on them. Her suit's color scheme changes frequently in different color pages, but in summary, the most common colors are blue with gold outlines and pink with green outlines.

Before joining Bruno Bucciarati's gang, he had flowing hair, similar to his father's. He originally had scruffy black hair; the color changed to blonde when he awakened his Stand. After obtaining Gold Experience Requiem, Giorno's hair took on a much spicier pattern, with his ponytail falling apart and all of his hair flowing to one side.

Gold Experience is one of the most versatile Stands in the series. It has the ability to create and manipulate life upon contact with inanimate objects, which Giorno most often uses to produce plants and small animals. Both can be used for a variety of purposes, ranging from disguise to tracing origins. Gold Experience Requiem is obtained after Giorno pierces Gold Experience with the Beetle Arrow. It has the ability to reduce the opponent's willpower and actions to zero. Anyone killed by Requiem will also have their death "returned to zero," forcing them into a loop of their own death for all eternity, unable to actually die.

He's a pretty serious teenager; he never loses sight of his mission and the goals he sets for himself. Although in some situations, Giorno thought about more mundane matters, like the delicious Margherita pizza in Naples, right before being attacked by Notorious B.I.G. Giorno tends to face things calmly and with great composure, but he can still become anxious when things get worse.
