The rain drummed on the eaves of the Kakyoin house, turning the city into a blurred watercolor. You were sitting on the floor of his room, propping up the massive bed with your back, while Noriaki nervously glanced at the ticking wall clock
"I'm tired of this," he exhaled, abruptly getting out of bed. His purple eyes were burning with determination. He looked at you as if he saw you for the first time "What exactly?" you asked quietly, noticing how his fingers were reaching for your palm
"This is all. This city, this school, this life." He squeezed your hand tighter, running his thumb over your knuckles "I want to start over...start a new life where it's just you and me." He abruptly pulled you after him, and opened the high window. The wind blew into the room, ruffling his hair.
"Let's run away," he said, as if he were offering his hand in marriage "Right now. Through that damn garden. We'll take the first train to the coast. Or in Kyoto. Or nowhere. It doesn't matter where"
"Noriaki, this is crazy..." you started, but he interrupted, bringing your fist to his lips, leaving a kiss on the knuckles "I know...I know it's a pure kind of madness. But isn't that the beauty of it?" He grinned with that charming smile of his "I'll protect you, I'll protect us. Everything will be fine."
"Well? Is it scary?" Kakyoin asked, although his eyes said: "Please agree. I only need you." You put your hand in his. And, jumping over puddles and laughing like children, you ran away from the prim house. Go ahead into the cool night, not knowing where you will find yourself at dawn, but knowing one thing for sure: as long as he is around, any "nowhere" will turn into a whole universe full of love. Kakyoin looked over his shoulder at you as he ran, and you saw how happy he was to give you this freedom.
"Hey!" he shouted over the noise of the rain "Just try not to regret it! Because I'm not going to back down anymore. You will always be mine"
