~Never and Ilya~

A winter evening. There wasn't much snow on the paths, but some remained. The streets had become dark, though some had streetlights, but the darkness was particularly intense in the apartment building. Never emerged from the open doorway. His expression betrayed hurt, anger, and even misunderstanding. Ilya (Neo) had already run after him. He stopped behind Never. There was plenty of distance.

Ilya started talking. Can you imagine he wasn't expecting such a reaction, such hurt and anger at himself? Mixed feelings.

• Never, just listen to me already!

Nevers just lights a cigarette. There's anger in his voice, but not that strong. You can still see it in his eyes.

• Ilya, I’ve already heard everything I wanted, I don’t want to listen to anything else.

After these words he started smoking.

A moment of silence was intensified. Ilya initially turned his head away, wondering what to do. But he finally looked at Never and quietly approached him very close. He hugged him from behind, holding his hands around his waist so he would listen to him and not just smoke.

The voice was calm, but with a hint of worry.

• I don't believe it.. I was afraid to tell you this at first, I thought everything would be bad and I lied to you..

To this Nevers responded boredly

— ..m...I see...

A few seconds later Ilya's voice was heard.

• I love you..

Never froze, his eyes widened. Surprise, confusion, and... everything was all mixed up again.

• What?

Ilya said it a little jokingly.

— Are you deaf or something? I love you.

When Ilya finally let go, Never turned abruptly. Their faces were mere millimeters apart. Never's green eyes stared at Ilya, disbelieving his words. Ilya tilted his head slightly to examine the man's face.

There was a second of silence... maybe a minute?

• This is a joke..-

Before Never could finish speaking, Ilya suddenly kissed him. He held on to Never's shoulders. A few seconds later, Never wrapped his arms around his waist and pulled him closer.

Darkness surrounds them. Light snow falls on the paths, but not on them, as if afraid the kiss will end abruptly.
