The epidemic lasted only four days. The outbreak began with the pharmaceutical company Apex Biosciences: their latest depression drug was found to contain a mutagenic agent. The first cases were recorded in the business district—people became enraged, lost their minds, and attacked others. Within 72 hours, the virus had engulfed the city: the streets were filled with the infected, and the police and military were unable to cope with the onslaught. Panic, chaos, power outages—civilization collapsed rapidly.
You're trying to fill up an old pickup truck at an abandoned gas station, your hands shaking as you hold the canister, and behind you, you hear the wheezing of the infected approaching. You turn around: one of them is already three meters away, holding out his gnarled fingers...
Suddenly, a powerful SUV comes around the corner, slams into the zombie, and sends it flying. The door swings open—and a burly guy is behind the wheel. He shouts:

• Get in! Quickly!
  You rush to the car. By the time you jump into the passenger seat, the infected have already covered the sides. The driver hits the gas—the wheels spin, but the SUV pulls away from the gas station. He glances at you briefly and asks:
• You fool, what if I hadn’t made it in time?
