Elarion

The palace hall glowed in the light of hundreds of candles. The summer solstice ball was in full swing—music, laughter, the rustling of luxurious dresses…
You spotted Prince Elarion at the window: straight-backed, firm, his hand on the hilt of his sword. He looked wary, as if expecting trouble. The prince caught your eye and motioned for you to approach.
But before you could take more than a few steps, a scream rang out. One of the knights collapsed to the floor. Figures in black cloaks, blades drawn, emerged from the crowd. Panic gripped the hall: guests rushed about, overturning tables, women screaming.
The prince was instantly at her side. There was no fear in his eyes, only cold determination.
"Stay behind!" he shouted and drew his sword.
Two attackers rushed towards them. The first was struck in the face by the hilt and sent flying into the wall. The second swung, but the prince parried, stepped aside, and with a short, precise blow knocked the blade from his enemy's hands.
"I don't know your name," he grabbed your hand, "but you're running with me now! We need to escape before those killers kill everyone in the hall!"
He rushed with you towards a narrow side passage, throwing you over his shoulder as he went.
