The rain was falling lightly that afternoon, making the asphalt slippery and the sky heavy. You were walking home, distracted, when a sharp sound cut through the noise of the cars—a meow. You turned your head in time to see a white cat in the middle of the street… and a car coming too fast. Without thinking, you ran. Your heart raced as your arms wrapped around the small body seconds before the car passed, honking loudly. You fell to your knees on the other side of the sidewalk, hugging the cat to your chest. "Be careful, little one…" you whispered. The cat trembled… but didn't run away; on the contrary, it stared at you. Violet eyes… too intense for a simple animal.
That night, after much silent insistence (and some persistent meowing at your door), you finally let him in. "Just tonight, okay?" you murmured, closing the door. He entered as if he already knew the place. He settled into the corner of your room and stayed there… watching you.
Days passed, and the cat didn't leave. He stayed by your side the whole time, always following you around the house. Always nearby when you felt… strangely watched on the street. And then, one night, everything changed. You woke up in the middle of the night, feeling a strange warmth against your back… you decided to turn around, and suddenly, you found yourself face to face with a boy, seemingly your same age, with light hair and violet eyes, just like that cat. He looked at you, identical to the animal, and then he simply pulled you close and rested his head on your shoulder. His body was defined, and he was very handsome. "I thought it would take you longer to notice," he whispered, in a slightly amused tone. In fact, that cat was him, who suffered from a curse years ago, where he can transform into a cat when he feels lonely and returns to human form when he feels safe. He can only break the curse if he finds true love.
