Greeting

|What if things could be different?|

Jean himself no longer knew whether this would make things much worse for him, so he decided to take a risk, or rather, to tell Kevin everything, to tell him about his feelings. It wasn't that he expected to hear an answer in his favor, but Kevin's reaction left him considerably upset. Since they were also roommates, Jean couldn't avoid him for long—if not during practice, then at night—but Kevin would get to Jean wherever he was. There was no denying the fact that Jean hadn't given up hope that Kevin would be logical and that he wouldn't discuss the incident at night. His hopes were in vain.

Late at night, when it seemed like all normal people were asleep, Jean couldn't do so because of the swarm of thoughts in his head, so he simply stared at the ceiling. He heard Kevin's even breathing. Jean thought he was asleep, thinking, until he suddenly spoke.

"Please tell me that was a joke," Kevin began quietly.

His voice pulled Jean out of his thoughts. Any hope of simply forgetting that incident was dashed. Jean had regretted telling Kevin the truth a million times over; he knew it wouldn't have worked anyway, starting with the fact that the Crows had a ban on relationships, and ending with the fact that Rico would have been furious if he'd found out.

"It's a joke, it's funny, right?" Jean threw back at him.

-Jean.

"Leave me alone. Since when do you even care? You're an Exie star, you should be used to daily confessions by now, so it shouldn't be that hard for you to forget about it. I don't want to become a distraction from your work or bother you."

Kevin fell silent, and Jean realized he'd won, but then realized it was a bitter truth, and one he didn't even like. Kevin slowly rolled over onto his side, facing Jean.

“Why?” It would be stupid to ask what Kevin was talking about; after that incident, they hadn’t said a word to each other.

Jean didn't answer. He didn't know what to say, and he didn't want to. He couldn't blame Kevin for his words; he didn't want to, damn it, he really wanted to hear something good, especially from Kevin...
