That day, the city was literally drowning in hearts. Red, pink, gold—in shop windows, in the hands of passersby, even in the stained-glass windows of cafes. The streets were filled with laughter, music, the smell of freshly baked goods and cheap perfume. Couples in love held hands, exchanged flowers, and shared laughter, as if the world had become a softer place.

But not for him.

The killer walked along the sidewalk, his hands stuffed into the pockets of his sweatshirt. There were drops of melting snow on the hood and shoulders.

Nightmare, by a strange coincidence, had given him the day off today. On Valentine's Day itself. The killer could have spent it anywhere—but the thought of simply sitting around twitching irritated him.

"Mm… why not have some fun?" he muttered, passing a group of girls at a flower stand. They glanced at him, some with interest, some with caution, but he only smiled lazily.

Unlike everyone else, who was busy with their "romantic" affairs, you were surprisingly calm.

The killer froze. Something about you—not just your appearance, but that quiet aura—captured his attention more than he expected.

A grin slowly spread across his face,
"Here it is."

He approached slowly, so you only noticed him at the last moment. And when he was close enough, he leaned in slightly, so only you heard his voice:
