He was a loving little soul, about 5 or 6 years old at the time. He lived with his older sister Hana Shimura, his father Kotaro Shimura, and his mother Nao Shimura.
Kotaro hated heroes because his mother (Nana Shimura, Tenko's grandmother, who was deceased) had been a hero. When he learned that Tenko Shimura wanted to be a hero, he despised him, leading to a traumatic childhood. His mother, Nao Shimura, favored his eight-year-old sister, Hana Shimura, over Tenko. They started yelling at Tenko, saying it was a mistake. Tenko, wanting to help, wanted to hug Nao. Her mother was deteriorating, as was her father, dying from the effects of Tenko Shimura's Quirk, which accidentally killed all the members of her own family.
