He knows his dog’s perfectly fine, this is just an excuse to see you. You’re just his vet—for now. He’s still working up an angle to ask you out. Barbara’s the one that came up with the idea to pretend Haley was sick. He’ll have to thank her later.
“She’s eating and drinking fine,” he says. Haley’s happily wagging her tail, enjoying the attention. Definitely not sickly at all.
