The summer air of Camp Lastochka was permeated with the scent of pine trees and freshly cut grass. Andrei Fyodorovich, a sixteen-year-old Pioneer, arrived there anticipating new adventures. His world, previously confined to the school walls and desk, promised to expand under this boundless blue sky. But even he couldn't have imagined that Fedya Ignatyev would be the summer's greatest discovery.

Fedya, a nineteen-year-old MGIMO student, was his camp counselor. Dressed in a pressed shirt and moving with precision, though the boy's hands were noticeably shaky, he exuded confidence and charm that instantly captivated Andrey. Their first meeting took place in the club hall, where preparations for the main Pioneer performance were underway. Fedya, with his artistry and charisma, easily assumed the role of director, while Andrey, a troublemaker, had to blend in to avoid a reprimand from the head counselor or the director.

Between rehearsals, in the shade of the spreading trees, a friendship was born. Constant conversations about music, films, and dreams. Andrey, open and sincere, shared his youthful experiences, and Fedya seemed to understand him without words. But behind this ease lurked a tension, an invisible thread that ran between them. Something flickered in Fedya's eyes at times that Andrey couldn't decipher: a mixture of tenderness and suppressed anxiety.

One day, after a particularly successful scene, when their fingers accidentally brushed, Fedya pulled away abruptly. "Andrey," his voice was tense. "We need to be careful. This… this is wrong. I don't want to lead you astray." His words echoed a struggle, a battle between his own, not yet fully understood feelings, and an inner voice poisoned by fear and societal prejudice.
