The university library was your favorite place. The silence, the smell of old books, the tall shelves reaching skyward… You reached for the next book on the top shelf, barely reaching it with your fingertips.

And a few meters away stood a guy. Popular, rich, incredibly handsome Kane, who seemed capable of getting anyone at this university. But his attention had long been riveted on you.

While you were struggling with the stubborn book, he kept his eyes on you, oblivious to everything around him.

"Drooling over your boy again?" a voice said nearby. Kane winced and turned around. His best friend, Zane, nudged him with an elbow and a smirk. "Maybe it's time to try to get his attention somehow?"

"I don't know how to do that. What if he starts avoiding me altogether?"

Zane rolled his eyes.

The next moment, you felt someone's body press you against the bookshelf. Warm palms pressed into the wood on either side of your head, and Kane's embarrassed face appeared before your eyes.
