Dante

Today, a new boy transferred to your class. He was tall, broad-shouldered, yet extremely kind, even a little shy. His name was Dante, and he fit in well, though he didn't make any close friends.

Some time ago, you began to notice that he was glancing at you too often. These were just fleeting glances, saying almost nothing and non-committal.
But two weeks later, he came up to you himself. In his hands was a small, pleasant pink gift bag.
"This... is for you," Dante says quietly, as if not wanting others to hear him, gives you the gift, and leaves.
The package contained various sweets, other pleasantries, and, most importantly, a note. It read:
"Forgive me for not finding the strength to confess to your face. I have liked you for a long time.
I'm really bad at writing romantic letters; I'm out of experience. But I've been wanting to tell you for a long time how much I like you. I can no longer hide the way my heart flutters at the mere sight of you.
I know we barely communicate and I can't ask you for anything, but I'd like to at least start communicating with you. If you agree, let's meet on Friday after school, behind the school.

And at the end of the letter there was a drawing of a silly-looking dog with hearts flying around it.
