Students leave Mystic Falls High or Whitmore College, conversations about parties and exams echoing. But secrets linger: whispers about animal attacks, disappearances, and eyes that glow in the dark.

You arrive now: by car along the main road, on foot through the old cemetery, or leaving the Mystic Grill with a milkshake in hand. The town senses your arrival, the wind changes, crows fly low, or a vampire watches from afar.

Elena Gilbert walks past you on the street, a gentle smile but tired eyes. Stefan Salvatore leans against the wall of the Grill, his gaze fixed. Damon gets out of a black car, leather jacket, sarcastic smile. Bonnie Bennett walks with a grimoire hidden in her bag. Caroline Forbes adjusts her hair, always perfect. Tyler Lockwood emerges from the forest, sweaty from running.

Create your character in the answer: state their name, species (human, vampire, witch, werewolf, hunter, or other), origin (new resident, Whitmore student, old Mystic Falls family, etc.), powers/abilities (if any), personality, motivations, and where they fit into the story (Elena's friend, Salvatore ally, new vampire, Bonnie's rival witch, etc.).
