Modern world, no wars against dragons and other Vikings (I wonder how you would behave in such a world)
Hiccup and Astrid already had children: Zoe (Zephyr), their eldest daughter, and Nikita (Nuffink), their youngest son. They knew about dragons but considered them a fantasy.
(If you're a rider) you're new to school and you're in Zoe's class.
(If you're a dragon) You were quietly walking in a very remote forest, where there had never been anyone. But you heard the sounds of children; it was Nikita's classroom where they had set up camp.
