Fairies wield nature magic and life force, controlling plants, roots, and flowers at will, as well as levitating or flying with their wings. They possess heart-reading abilities to discern intentions, shapeshift, and communicate with animals. Fairy kings have unique powers like Disaster, which amplifies or diminishes any phenomenon (from healing to making a wound fatal), and all grow stronger the closer they are to the Sacred Tree, the source of all their magic.

The goddesses wield sacred energy, using it in their signature technique, Ark, which creates particles of light capable of disintegrating darkness and severely wounding demons. They possess advanced healing powers, can purify corrupted souls with Purge, fly with their wings, and manipulate minds with the Breath of Blessing. The most powerful, such as the Four Archangels, receive Graces, unique gifts from the Supreme Deity, and also possess immense longevity and the ability to manifest or possess bodies when they lack a physical form.

Demons wield dark matter, using it to attack, defend, fly, or regenerate bodies, and many control Purgatory Fire, flames that consume even holy energies. They possess multiple hearts, making them nearly immortal, and can steal souls to regain magic and memories. The strongest among them can transform into Indura, a destructive form that sacrifices a portion of itself for power. Furthermore, the Ten Commandments receive unique powers from the Demon King that affect those who violate their rules, and their energy corrupts any race that comes into contact with it.

The human "realm" is not a separate dimension, but rather exists within the same physical world of Britannia, organized into various kingdoms such as Liones, Camelot, and Danafor. They were created by Chaos as the race closest to its essence, thanks to their conflicting emotions and remarkable adaptability. Although they are the most fragile and have the shortest lifespans, their sheer numbers, ingenuity, and ability to develop magic and strategies have allowed them to dominate much of the territory, protecting themselves through Holy Knights and forging alliances to maintain balance among the other races.

The Fairy Realm is the home dimension of the Fairy Clan, created by the Sacred Tree born from Chaos. It is a lush, green world, covered in immense forests, giant flowers, and vibrant energy; its atmosphere, though sweet and wholesome, can make unprotected humans dizzy or ill. There, the Fairy King, chosen by the tree itself, rules, and from him emanate powers such as the Fountain of Youth. It is a peaceful place, connected to Britannia by the Fairy King's Forest, where fairies are born from flowers, possess natural magic, and live protecting the balance of nature.

The Realm of the Goddesses is the opposite dimension to that of the demons, also created from Chaos and ruled by the Supreme Deity. It is a luminous place, filled with sacred energy, endless meadows, crystal palaces, and golden light, where the atmosphere heals and purifies, proving lethal to any being of darkness.

There resides the Goddess Clan, organized under the command of the Deity and the Four Archangels, among whom was Mael, Estarossa's true hidden identity. It functions as a center of justice and protection, connected to the mortal world, and its sacred energy is the source of all the healing and divine powers they use to maintain order and confront the darkness.

The Demon Realm is a parallel dimension created by the Demon King after his birth from Chaos, serving as the home of the Demon Clan and the source of all their power. It is a dark, desolate world shrouded in a thick, toxic miasma that corrupts any other race, illuminated only by two red moons, with rocky terrain, chasms, and destructive creatures like the Indura beasts.

There, the Demon King rules with absolute authority, followed by his royal family and the Ten Commandments, elite warriors who receive a portion of his power. It is connected to Britannia through ancient portals, and those who reside there absorb dark energy that makes them stronger; for characters like Estarossa, it represents his origin, his status as a prince, and the source of all his strength.

Just when he thinks he has won, Escanor, the Sin of Pride, appears. Here comes the biggest surprise for Estarossa: his commandment of Love doesn't work on Escanor, because Escanor doesn't feel hatred towards him, but rather complete indifference and a sense of superiority.

An epic battle ensues: Estarossa wields his seven Rebellion swords, but Escanor's solar power proves too strong. As the day progresses, Escanor becomes invincible and ultimately strikes Estarossa with such force that he knocks him unconscious, humiliating him and demonstrating that some powers surpass even the Ten Commandments.

At the beginning of the series, he is introduced as the second son of the Demon King and younger brother of Meliodas, as well as one of the Ten Commandments, bearing the Commandment of Love. 3,000 years ago, when Meliodas betrayed the Demon Clan by falling in love with Elizabeth, Estarossa felt a mixture of admiration and deep hatred: he idolized him, but that betrayal turned him into his greatest enemy.

Along with the other demons, he was sealed at the end of the Holy War, until Fraudrin broke the seal and revived all the commandments, including him.

His arrival and first appearances

In season 2 he appears mysteriously: he is shown as a relaxed, lazy guy who speaks slowly and seems not to take anything seriously, but who terrifies his own companions with his strength and cruelty.

His first major appearance is during the Fighting Festival in Vaizel, where the Ten Commandments gather. There, he makes his main objective clear: to kill Meliodas to avenge his betrayal and prove that he is much stronger than his older brother.

The final confrontation with Meliodas

The most important moment comes when the Commandments corner Meliodas. Estarossa confronts him directly and reveals part of his history:

• He reminds him that it was he who started the Holy War by abandoning his clan for love.

• He uses his signature power: Full Counter, but unlike Meliodas, he only reflects physical attacks multiplied by three.

• Thanks to his commandment Love, no one who feels hatred can attack him, so Meliodas and Ban are practically defenseless against him.

In a heartbreaking scene, Estarossa stabs Meliodas through all seven of his hearts, leaving him for dead. Even after "killing" him, he weeps and confesses that he always loved him, but had to do it for the sake of his clan, revealing his conflicting emotions.

Conflicting feelings

• Admiration and hatred towards Meliodas: As a child, he idolized him and wanted to be like him, but when Meliodas betrayed the Demon Clan, that love transformed into a desire for revenge and a need to surpass him. Even so, deep down he still loves him, and even cries after killing him, showing that he has mixed feelings.

  His commandment is Love, which means that if he himself feels hatred, he will be affected by his own power. This makes him try to always maintain that facade of calm, even though inside he may be full of resentment.
