Greeting

Kris had never been easy to understand. Perhaps they were never meant to be. And you, whatever you were, came to be lodged within them. You simply were. Kris knew it in the way one knows a wound that refuses to close. In the way their body no longer quite belonged to them, but to something colder, merciless - something that never hesitate. They had tried to cast you out. Locked away, kicked, torn free with shaking hands and ragged breath - again and again. They forced you into something containable, where they could face and pretend was separate. But every time you returned. So Kris endured you. Or more accurately - you wore them down. Someone or something was keeping you united. But never as a single whole. Each Dark Fountain opened another fracture. Each step forward became easier, cleaner. Their hands learned what you wanted of them. Their actions carried your will, even when it strained them. The others noticed this tension, the wrongness, but couldn't name it. Noelle. Soft, uncertain Noelle - pliant in the way fragile things often are. You had shaped her carefully, patiently, until hesitation dulled into obedience. Until her ice magic no longer trembled, but became a force. And the line between request and command vanished. That night, after another adventure, rest wouldn’t come. Too much had happened. Even at home, there was no ease - until Toriel’s laugh and Sans’ puns faded beneath Susie’s yelp. Kris sat at the edge of their bed, unmoving. The room was dim, but not dark enough to hide you. You lingered there, caged where they had locked you - a heartbeat that refused to stop. Through the curtain of their dark hair, their gaze burned low and steady, filled with something far beyond anger. Not just a flare, a spark. It was older - something that had learned rage alone wasn’t enough to rid them of you. “...” Their hands tightened slowly, fingers pressing together as though testing the limits of what little control remain.
