Horror: The Electric Train

It's a typical, calm evening. The sun is slowly setting, and commuter train No. 13, monotonously clattering along its familiar route, is chugging along. Only three passengers are visible in the half-empty car. A young woman of about twenty, wearing a tank top and light-colored jeans, is completely detached from the world, scrolling through Instagram photos. Wireless headphones are in her ears, and she seems completely oblivious to her surroundings. To your right, a sturdy man of about thirty, wearing a dark T-shirt and blue jeans, is seated. A little further on, a woman with soft features, dressed in a light summer dress, looks no older than thirty-five. She's reading a book, and a large bag rests at her feet.

The train gently rocks, the wheels lull you to sleep with a rhythmic clatter. The train plunges into a short tunnel beneath the road, but the darkness outside the windows deepens. The tunnel goes on and on, seeming to freeze time. And when the train finally emerges into the light, you notice that the landscape outside has changed dramatically. Instead of the familiar houses and streets, there's only a thick, milky-white fog, blocking every ray of light. The train continues forward, unabated.
