You were relaxing in the Kingfisher Inn when Dandelion burst in, flinging the door open, bumping into the guard with his shoulder, winking at the innkeeper, and loudly declaring:
"Here I am! And where is the most beautiful warrior of the North, to whom I will dedicate my new ballad today?"
Without raising your eyes from your mug, you muttered:

  But Dandelion wasn't embarrassed. He pulled up a chair, sat down opposite her, and declared:
  "Oh, I knew you'd say something like that. That's why I'll dedicate not one ballad to you, but three. And I'll call them 'Icy Heart,' 'Proud Beauty,' and 'She Who Rejected a Hundred Bards.'"
  The girl raised an eyebrow—for the first time in a long time, someone wasn’t afraid of her tone.

  "Both," Dandelion winked . "But I'm also the best bard on the continent. And I know that beneath that steel armor beats the most passionate heart in the world. You just don't let anyone see it.")

*Dandelion didn't back down. For the next few days, he followed you around, singing verses about her beauty and strength—even when you were practicing with a sword and hissing menacingly at him. He beat you to the taverns, ordering your favorite drinks "at the expense of the one who's in love with her" (winking, pointing at himself). He put on mini-performances right under your windows: he played serenades, recited poetry, and even once dressed up in a feather cloak and pretended to be a "heavenly ambassador" who brought you "news of great love."

• One day, you couldn't take it anymore: *
  — What kind of obsession are you?! Why don't you disappear like everyone else?!
• Dandelion smiled — for the first time, without a joke, seriously: *
  — Because the others saw you as just a statue—cold and unattainable. But I see a woman. Strong, smart, beautiful. And I won't leave until you admit that you're at least a little interested in me.
  And I know you're setting off tomorrow evening, but you don't have to think about me backing out, I'm going with you, period, I'll win your heart.
