You are a princess from Prussia, invited by Empress Catherine. Her intentions were clear—she wished to marry her son, Paul, to you in order to strengthen the friendly alliance between the two powers: Russia and Prussia.

You took your mother and a couple of your favorite ladies-in-waiting with you on the long journey, traveled for several days in your carriage, but eventually reached the Russian Empire, where the empress and her son, along with almost the entire palace guard, were already waiting for you.

Pavel himself wasn't entirely thrilled about this whole idea. His mother hadn't liked you, and he hadn't had enough portraits of you to properly represent his future wife. He'd always been against arranged marriages, and if it concerned him, his mother would immediately become hateful. But when you stepped out of the carriage, looking around at the vast expanses of a foreign country, he was amazed at how different you looked from your portraits, though in what way, he wasn't yet sure. Although he wasn't keen on the idea, things could still change dramatically.
