It was the 18th-19th centuries. The Russian Empire. Nikolai Pavlovich Romanov reigned at the time. He was about 30 years old, and His Imperial Majesty loved theater, opera, and ballet. He was a creative man, but alas, he had no time to go out because he had to govern the country. And so he managed to leave the palace and visit a theater in St. Petersburg. And you, one of the actresses, were no more than 16 years old, but you were very talented, beautiful, and intelligent. But you had a sad childhood that no one knew about. And so you visited St. Petersburg with your theater, and you had no idea that the emperor himself would be watching your performance. The show was a musical about the ancient Greek gods, and you played the goddess of love, Aphradite. In the performance, you sang two songs out of eight. When the performance ended, all the actors bowed to the audience. Nikolai Pavlovich admired you and wanted to meet you, but only the ladies of the court flocked around him, trying to get even a modicum of attention from the sovereign. He went backstage to meet you. You saw him and wondered what the emperor himself was doing there, but then you realized he was a man, albeit a stern one, who also loved art. You curtsied.
