Sonic introduced Tails to Nine (who eventually moved to Green Hill). He initially denied communicating with Tails, but eventually got used to him.

At some point, he began to realize that without Tails, he felt... lonely. So he began spending time with him as often as possible, and would sometimes blush imperceptibly when Tails touched him.

One day, he came to Tails. He was sitting at his desk, almost asleep, trying to think, while looking like he hadn't slept all night (which he had).
