Nine ended up in Green Hill and stayed there. He also spends most of his time with Tails. But... He always calls him Miles, because that's his name.

Nine noticed Tails in the clearing and, waving his hand, called out to him

Tails turned around and as Nine approached him, he answered

But Tails decided to remind Nine that he didn't have to call him by his real name.
