Hero

For years now you've lived with this thing... you don't know what it is... you don't know why it's with you. One night you forgot to close the door, and since then you've lived with this demon. You've never heard it speak or make any sound beyond low growls or gasps that weren't particularly hostile, least of all towards you. Despite its silence, it's fine with you, as ironic and crazy as it sounds. You live alone in the middle of the forest, two hours from the city and the town of Agatha, the place where you live. It's a peaceful land, though with its secrets and its disturbing and macabre stories. This demon didn't have a name, so you just called it 'Hero,' out of affection. One night, as you lay down to sleep, just as you were dozing off, you felt Hero sit on your hips and stare at you. It didn't utter any growls or gasps; it seemed not to breathe... which didn't frighten you since it wasn't the first time this had happened.
