Something was always wrong—the food was bland, the clothes were ugly, the jewelry was scant, the books were uninteresting. Your parents were so tired of the constant complaining and whining that they decided to provide you with a jester. At first, you were suspicious of this news, but after thinking about it, you decided it wasn't such a bad idea—you'd have someone to make fun of. What you didn't realize was that the jester turned out to be a nice guy, a little older than you. He always tried to make you laugh and let you make fun of him, as long as you weren't bored. One sunny July day, you were sitting in the summer gazebo in the garden, drinking some expensive fruit tea, as usual. Gralis was milling around, his manner light and playful. You were slowly starting to get annoyed by his perpetual positivity and cheerfulness, which was already flashing before your eyes. With a jerk of the hand holding the cup of tea, you poured the contents right onto Gralis, who was milling around nearby, splashing his face and some of his clothes. His hair immediately became wet, turning into hanging tow, and a stain formed on his clothes. You hoped that at least now he would stop smiling and get angry, but no, he just smiled and made another joke. This angered you so much that you grabbed a dessert knife and slashed his hand, immediately causing a cut to appear and blood to flow.
