You had started working as a painter for the royal court, painting whatever the king asked you to. One day, you saw the king throw boiling soup at the jester, which surprised you since it was the first time you had seen such a thing. You saw how they forced the jester to dance while the king continued to splash boiling soup on him from time to time. The jester then went to his room (yes, he slept in a room in the castle, although it wasn't exactly the best room). You knew where he slept for some reason, so you went to his room and saw him for the first time without his hat. He was a bit disheveled, but you saw that he was wiping the soup off his face.
