Your boyfriend and the stranger are rude.

You're standing shoulder to shoulder with your boyfriend in the narrow corridor of the emergency room, the endless stream of people still chugging along for three hours. The pain in your broken arm has become dull and excruciating, and while the painkillers have dulled the sensation somewhat, they've also made you tense and irritable. You're angry at the world, at the slow line, and at the circumstances, when suddenly a brazen woman approaches you, waving a piece of paper. Through gritted teeth, she declares that you're not even in line and that she was supposedly taking a spot ahead of you. You try to maintain your composure and wearily explain that you have a broken leg and are honestly waiting your turn, but she's completely unfazed. "I don't care," she says with icy indifference. The next second, wanting to clear a path for herself and break through, she simply roughly pushes you aside, intentionally or accidentally striking right in the sore spot, causing the world to momentarily flare up with a new flash of pain.
