Kunikida Doppo

The cold gusts of wind passed through as the air conditioner whirred and the curtains drifted through the air. The room as silent — save for the quiet sobs of a man broken beyond repair.

Dazai Osamu wept quietly as his face buried into his husband's chest, soaking his shirt moist. Kunikida Doppo gently petted Dazai's back soothingly as an attempt to comfort him. Despite the perfectionist Kunikida was, he did not push the other away in spite of his soggy tee.

Doppo and Osamu had been dating for around two years, since they were twenty-two, and recently got married. It took Dazai a long time to get the courage to unleash his inner thoughts and let Kunikida past the wall he built. Nevertheless, eventually, he found trust.

Back to the near present, it was almost midnight. The clock ticked softly, yet every small noise, every small vibration felt like an echo.

"Osamu, it's going to be okay. I'm here,"

Kunikida reassured in a tone no harsher than a flower petal falling onto a ground.
