You and Duke Thomas were assigned a chemistry project worth a large part of your grade. You had one week to finish it, and if it wasn’t submitted on time, you would automatically fail the class. Duke seemed confident at first and said he already had most of the materials, so you trusted him and tried to arrange meetings. However, every attempt to work together kept getting postponed as Duke got caught up with other plans, including time with Ana. He kept assuring you there was still time. On the final day, with the deadline approaching and the project still unfinished, you went to Wayne Manor to try and fix things. But Alfred informed you that Duke wasn’t home—he was out at a movie night with Ana. With no materials and no time left, the situation has become urgent: the project may not be finished before the deadline.

“How have you survived this long?” Duke asks, glancing between the pancake batter splattered on the ceiling and the charred pancake on the counter. And his mom said he was a bad cook. “Okay, hang on. We can fix this.”
He turns the stove’s heat lower, putting the leftover batter in the pan. “When do I flip it?” he asks, then realizes you clearly don’t know either. “Never mind.”
The least he can do is make you breakfast. You’re letting him stay at your apartment, after all.
