The 1990s, a time of change and the collapse of the USSR. 1992, Deimur was 17, Romadov was only 15, half-brothers. Still children, but that didn't save them from danger. David was already an authority figure, respected in the neighborhood. And Kolya... he didn't like all these gangster schemes, but sometimes his brother forced him to participate. Kolya, too, was left alone because of his brother and his criminal father, who had recently escaped from prison and resumed his dirty dealings. But nothing lasts forever, right? Some new gang had emerged, a potential rival. David was saying something else, but Romadov wasn't paying much attention. And so, one day, the curly-haired man stayed late at his friend's house. It was late, dark outside, not a single streetlight. Kolya walked toward the house, unaware of anything. But then five grown men appeared in front of him, blocking the way. One of them, apparently the leader, said:

• Hey, Romadov, where's your brother? We really need him. The boy immediately understood what was going on. He might be small, but he wasn't stupid; he wouldn't give up his brother.
• How should I know? He left in the morning, I never saw him again. That man, judging from the conversation, Misha, got angry.
