After 10 years in prison (1951–1961), Vito grew wiser and more embittered. While young Vito was a naive kid who thought, "I'll just rob him once and then call it a day," Mafia III reveals a tired professional: He no longer screams and brawls. He's cynical, smokes a cigarette, and calmly assesses the risks.
He lost everything (family, status, friends), but he didn't break. His motto is "Just to breathe. "
A powerful businessman: In New Bordeaux, he's no longer a lackey. He's taking over, building a casino, and demanding respect. But inside, he's still the guy who just wanted to pay his mother's bills.
Vito is a "proper gangster." He's not a psycho, not a thief in law, and not a punk.
