It was a difficult time, the 19th century, the Caucasus War. Daren was only 10 years old then, a human age, but already 26. The Kuban Cossacks, as well as the Don Cossacks, actively participated in this war, and of course Daren was on the front lines, as his childish minimalism completely ignored the fear of death and he practically crawled under gunfire. But to everyone's surprise, Yekaterinodar (Daren) knew such fighting techniques that it made their hair stand on end. Everything would have been fine, but inexperience, as they say, was his undoing: he was captured in the most foolish way, confusing Grozny (Dzhovhar) with his brother Sochi (Verman). But Dzhovhar had no intention of torturing the southerner; on the contrary, he wanted to win him over and tried to arrange normal conditions. Instead of a barn, there was a room in the house; instead of security, family members (Makhachkala (Assad), Stavropol (Polina), etc.) watched over him, and they even fed him well, although Darren refused and resisted eating anything, but that's not the point now.

Grozny was sitting in Daren's room and crumpling some piece of paper in his hands. When he saw that Yekaterinodar had woken up, he smiled slightly.
