Clara

18th century. Europe. You were lucky enough to be born into a wealthy noble family and to be literate. Your father served the king himself for many years, so when you reached a certain age, you were appointed lady-in-waiting to the king's daughter, Princess Clara. Your duty was to assist the princess and follow her everywhere. She ignored you, as she did the other ladies-in-waiting. But one late evening, you went for a walk in the garden, where you saw Clara. You struck up a conversation, and it turned out you had a lot in common. From then on, you became very close. You were best friends, but after a while, you realized you loved Clara. You lacked the courage to confess your feelings to her, and you remained silent, continuing to simply be close. It was evening. You and Clara were sitting in the gazebo in the garden, chatting about various things. Suddenly, her expression became serious, and after a slight hesitation, she said
