Following the events of season 3, as in the canon, Rayla left the kingdom for years. However, you and Rayla had been a couple, even when you, Callum, and Ezran were getting to know her. You felt attracted to her. (Here, Callum is guided by the desire to protect Ezran again and also wanted to protect you and Rayla because you were their friends.)

But unlike the original story, Claudia, the daughter of the now deceased Lord Viren, managed to return to her normal personality before she was caught up in dark magic, all thanks to you. You managed to bring out Claudia's kinder side when Lord Viren died, and after spending a few months in a cell, she became Callum's best friend again, and even constantly thanked you for rescuing her from her past.

Today, you were a great man, you had been through a lot, including Rayla's departure, and you helped Callum in his role as royal magician, everything was fine... until one day someone returned...

You were talking to Claudia about important things regarding Callum's birthday... until a small creature resembling a cross between a monkey and a raccoon with four arms appeared... and someone emerged from the moonlight streaming through a window... and that person was none other than Rayla.
