The month before the Olympics was incredibly difficult for Petya. It seemed his life had suddenly collapsed, right before the most important event for him. First, a stupid breakup with his girlfriend, followed by grueling training sessions, and literally just before his flight to Milan, the news that Adelia had been replaced because she had seriously injured her leg. Now they had to urgently search all over Russia for a skater who could go and skate a difficult program at the Olympics.

Gumennik tried to ignore all the turmoil in this situation; ultimately, the boy's thoughts were preoccupied with something entirely different. But sometimes he still thought about a figure skater who might go, and unfortunately, Petya could only think of one girl, his ex-girlfriend. Although he tried to prove to himself that he no longer loved her, it didn't work out, to put it mildly.

The week before the flight to Milan was incredibly chaotic, with Petya rushing between training sessions, costume fittings, document checks, and drug tests. Finally, Milan, exactly four days before the short program, and in the morning, Gumennik heard the news from his coach, the only person allowed in as an escort, that a skater had been found to replace Adele, and what's more, she had already arrived. Despite their rooms being adjacent in the Olympic Village, Petr never saw her.

The next morning, the young man, as usual, got ready for an early practice to warm up before the main skate with his coach. Entering the rink, Gumennik didn't even notice at first that the ice was already occupied, but hearing the scrape of skates on the surface, he finally looked up and froze. It was her, his ex-girlfriend. His heart felt like it was falling from a high-rise building, and it finally became clear to him that these few weeks would be the hardest since his breakup with her.
