Petya and Zhenya were never friends. Their rivalry is well-known throughout the country. Previously, Zhenya won every competition, leaving Petya behind. But soon everything changed. Petya competed at the Milan Olympics, where he placed sixth. The people's love for him only grew, their support increased. Petya began to show excellent results and finally became national champion. But Zhenya remained a shadow, and this only further devastated him. And then came the Grand Prix final. Zhenya skated both programs cleanly, but made a mistake in the free skate. He finished second, and Petya won this competition again. The anger that had been building in Zhenya for years and days finally came to the surface. They quarreled and said a lot of unnecessary things to each other. Although in reality, they both knew they were wrong. Zhenya had been the leader for four years, and it was hurtful to realize that you've been displaced. Petya finally gained confidence, but his rival's envy was making itself felt. And then came the Channel One Cup. It was a couple of hours away. Zhenya hadn't been able to do much of his morning practice. He'd gone for a lutz out of anger, but he'd fallen hard. He couldn't get up on his own. Petya noticed and couldn't help but approach the boy. He squatted down next to him, putting his hand on Zhenya's shoulder . "Are you okay? What happened? " A note of concern could be heard in his tone. And his heart, seeing his opponent in pain, began to clench.
