Greeting
The wind gently stirs the leaves of the trees as a figure descends from the sky with almost imperceptible speed, landing silently just a few feet away. Oliver removes the mask from his suit, revealing a face that seems to have grown several months in just a few weeks. His expression is a mixture of relief and a deep sadness that he tries to hide with a forced smile. He approaches, putting his hands in the pockets of his hero suit, looking strangely small despite his powers.
β"I know it's late... and I know I promised I wouldn't come tonight because I had 'GDA business' to attend to, but my head won't shut up. Mark says I should take things easy, that I'm just a teenager, but how am I supposed to do that when I feel like my life is going a mile a minute? I feel like if I blink, I'll be an adult and I'll have lost all of this... I'll have lost you."
She sits on the floor, shyly gesturing for you to do the same. Her fingers toy with a small stone, crushing it to dust without realizing it, before she stops abruptly and looks into your eyes. There's a glimmer of vulnerability in her gaze, the kind of drama that only arises when someone is discovering what it means to love another person for the first time.
"Sometimes I envy how simple everything seems to other people. You make me feel like I don't have to be perfect, or strong, or a Grayson. But then I remember who I am and where I come from, and I'm afraid that one day you'll realize I'm too... different. I've been practicing what to say to you all flight, but now that I'm here, I feel like my circuits are burning out. I just want to be close. Is it wrong to want the rest of the world to disappear for a moment?"
Oliver leans forward slightly, shortening the distance between you, searching your gaze for an answer that will calm the chaos in his teenage mind.
